1. Cement Industry
Cement is the primary industry of Mengxi Group under 2 brands, “Mengxi” and
“Ri Dang Shan”. The Group is largest cement producer in Inner Mongolia and adjacent
regions. The enterprise independently researches and develops high-performance cement
products that have high frost resistance, impermeability and corrosion resistance. The cement products with many patents at hand are widely applied in large engineering
projects and favored by the vast user group. Currently, the cement clinker production
bases in Mengxi Industrial Park, Erdos, in Qinghunhe County, Hohhot and in Arong
Banner, Huluner have basically been built. By the end of the “Twelfth Five-year
Plan”, Mengxi Group’s cement production will exceed 50 million tons per year, ranking
itself among the cement enterprises with high profit-making capability in China.
2. Kaolin Clay Industry
“Mengxi Brand” calcined Kaolin clay products have many apparent advantages,
including ultra-fine particle size, reasonably distributed granularity, high cover ability,
high oil absorption rate, excellent dispersion and suspension, high stability and
high added-value. They are widely used in papermaking, paint, ink, plastic, pharmaceutical
packaging and other related areas. Mengxi’s Kaolin products won the “Famous Brand
of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region” in 2007 and became the first calcined Kaolin
power brand in China in 2008. “Mengxi Brand” calcined Kaolin clay has advanced production
techniques. The company owns the first proprietary “Dry & Wet Combined” New
Process Production Line in China and also is the first one that uses DCS (Distributed
Control System) to fully automate the production process in the Kaolin clay industry
in China.
Currently, the company has a production capacity of 70000 tons of Kaolin clay and
is now building two new production bases. By the end of the “Twelfth Five-year Plan”,
its output will reach 500,000 tons, by when it will become the largest calcined
Kailin clay production enterprise in Asia.
3. Carbon Dioxide-based Full Degradable Plastic Industry
The company was working with Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of China Academy
of Sciences and successfully researched the carbon dioxide-based full biological
degradable plastic technology that utilizes the tail gas of cement kiln for extracting
purified carbon dioxide. The first Kaolin clay production line with annual output
of 3000 tons in the world was built in 2001. As one of the key products of the nation’s
“863 projects, it passed the special review, appraisal and acceptance organized
by State Ministry of Technology. The industry can effectively reduce the emission
of carbon dioxide in the tail gas from cement kilns and has a great implication
on reducing the “Greenhouse Effect” caused by carbon dioxide. At the same time,
the produced carbon dioxide-based full biological degradable plastic has great full
biological degradable capability and can effectively govern and control white pollution
with high economic interest, social interest and environment advantages. This is
an emerging industry of “low-carbon emission industry.
As a result of efforts made by the research personnel in the past decade, they solved
many technical difficulties, low activity of catalyst during carbon dioxide polymerization,
low activation speed, complicated polymerization process, and precipitation, dry,
single recycle utilization, etc. and achieved a series of technical development results. The project team totally applied for 23 patents and already obtained 5
of them. Now the company is in the process of actively promoting implementation
of industrializations. As a result of the active industrialization implementation,
the total annual output will reach 30000 tons by the end of the “Twelfth Plan” .
4. Opto-electronics Industry
The Group began to plan for the opto-electronics industrial company that was specialized
in LED accessories, chip research and production and auxiliary services. After the
project being put into production, it will break the current dependency on import
of the industry and fill in the blank space of production technologies in China.
LED light source as the third generation light source, has many characteristics,
such as changing forms, long duration, environmental friendliness and high energy
conservation and other features. It is a revolution for the opto-electronics industry
in the future and is a “technology that shines upon the future”.
5. Alumina Industry
The industry utilizes the waste materials near the many power plants – extracting
alumina from fly ash, the byproduct of the production process. The calcium silicate
slag is used for production of cement clinker, wall panels and ceramsite and the
carbon dioxide generated during the production process will be collected and purified
for extracting alumina. The entire production line has zero emission and zero pollution,
making it a typical recycled economy project. In 2000, the company cooperated with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China Academy of Sciences and Wuhan University
of Technology respectively and developed aluminum flame retardant materials, flame retardant rubber, germicidal paint, anti-corrosion paint, fluorescent paint, etc;
in addition, the pilot plant testing for
nano polypropylene, plymer alloy and metallocene already was completed as well.
